The chief executive officer of the Nigeria postal service (NIPOST), Barrister Bisi Adegbuyi ,said the postal agency has recorded an increase of N700M in revenue, compared to the 2016 fiscal year.
The postmaster general made the disclosure at a retreat organised for members of staff in Abuja.
According to him, expenditure has reduced by 40 percent in the course of  the year .
While stating that postal agency have brought new innovation by partnering with banks to assist rural farmers to access credit and farm inputs .
“We know fully well that farmers occupy a large percentage of people in the rural communities ”
In the same vein, the management is working with the union by engaging the staff with appropriate technology and manpower to perform effectively.
Similarly, he noted that the management has adopted the right mix of organisational
structure and innovative management style, which is inline with private sector  practices.
“We are empowering the business and the zones to be more pragmatic and efficient .
We dismantled the old bureaucratic process oriented structure and replaced it with a more pragmatic business structure ”
In the same vein, he added that NIPOST now have seven operational zones with zonal managers, which was created from the previous 37 territorial zones to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
Barrister Adegbite also highlights that four additional businesses were created which will run as commercial ventures for profitability.
The new business structure include :financial/digital services, logistics /e Commerce, properties /workshop, and the Nipost training institute.
The postmaster general also disclosed that new gaming products were launched during the World post day celebrations.
“The latest version of international postal system which is an up to date track and trace system that gives access to customers to know the status of the posted items from acceptance to delivery ”
